Climate Justice and the Courts: The Protection of Human Rights in the Context of the Climate Crisis

Esta sessão irá explorar o papel dos órgãos judiciais e quase-judiciais na defesa dos direitos humanos no contexto da emergência climática.
O painel reunirá juízes, advogados, acadêmicos, ativistas e lideranças indígenas que estão impulsionando mudanças e transformação na legislação e na vida dos indivíduos e comunidades por meio de litígios estratégicos perante tribunais constitucionais, organismos internacionais de direitos humanos e outros mecanismos de proteção dos direitos humanos.
This session will explore the role of judicial and quase-judicial bodies in upholding the human rights of those who are most affected by the climate emergence.
The panel will bring together judges, lawyers, scholars, activists and indigenous peoples leaders who are driving change and transforming the law and the lives of individuals and communities through strategic litigation before constitutional courts, international human rights bodies and other human rights protection mechanisms.
